Spartans maintain their dominance over Hooperz (69-63)

The re-match was played on16th as scheduled though due to the flash rains was almost postphoned but fortunately the rains receded and the courts dried quickly enof for the games to proceed. Spartans fielded some new players namely Robert(formerly of Kings) and Salum. Let me add this is the second player to join Spartans from Kings as Nyaki also defected from Kings.

Hooperz beefed up their squad with the likes of Mussa(Guard), Godie Magadu (Big forward) and King (Centre) as they had the home courts advantage they came into the game with high expectations. Moreso the home crowd was there to cheer them on.

The home team led all thru till the end of the 3rd quater relying more on penetrating drives and jumpshots from Seeta and Jacob. But some tough defending by the Spartans and fast breaks begun to pay off as we slowly inched our way back into the game and rode to a win.

The final score was 69-63.

Spartans start the year with a victory (48-49)

Spartans on the 9/10/2010 met and clashed horns with the Hooper's from Njiro. Spartans relying more on experience had to pull a few tricks to carry the day.

The Spartan team got 2getha to pull the boots and socks out of the cupboard, blow off the dust and get down and dirty in Spartan gear.

This meet was overshadowed by the foul habits developing in the sport as previous matches were marred by foul mouthing and extreme fouling practices that had resulted in a walk off the court the previous weekend by Hooper's players in a game with the Kings B.Ball Club.

But thankfully good sportsmanship and discipline carried the day. The game was so well received that a rematch was scheduled for the coming weekend this time at the Njiro BB court at the IAA (Hooper's home court).
